Wikipedia Blackout Workarounds and What is this all About?

First the workarounds for the Wikipedia blackout on January 18, 2012. Only the English wiki has been blocked. You can turn off javascript and gain access. Most of us know about online piracy and copyright infringement concerns, and that much of this infringement comes from foreign websites. Two bills, The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and PROTECT IP Act of 2011 (PIPA) have been introduced in the U.S. Congress to address the situation. The problem many have with these bills is an approach that will increase the risk of online censorship and they may inhibit innovation and commerce of legitimate businesses.

In protest of the bills, Wikipedia has joined an online protest movement with a blackout of their English language website. More news about the blackout ‘Wikipedia Blackout,’ SOPA and PIPA Explained from ABC and the White House public response.
