A great idea whose time has come.
The Science of NFL Football is a 10-part series of short (4-minute) videos that explore the science behind America’s most beloved sport. Get ready for Sunday (kickoff time 6:20pm EST) by taking a look at these and other video segments: “Vectors, (the passing game)” “Projectile Motion & Parabolas, (place kickers and field goals)” or maybe “Kinematics–Position, Velocity & Acceleration” (running backs) or “Torque” (the offensive linemen). Awesome NFL footage and some exceptional Steelers and Dolphins players (Hines Ward, Antwaan Randle El, and Jake Long are some of the names that caught my eye) are the icing on the cake.
These were just way too much fun for a Monday. Hats off to the NSF, the NFL, and NBC Learn (the educational arm of NBC News).
