Are there journals you scan frequently for new articles of interest? Several ways exist where you can have the table of contents sent to you on a regular basis. In an earlier New & Notable post we told you about one method that can be used to send new articles updates direct to your email. It’s called Journal TOCs, a collection of over 19,000 scholarly journal table of contents.
You can also use an RSS feed for updates and have the content pushed to you in several ways. One way is to use a built-in RSS reader in your web browser. I’ll show you in this video how to add a feed from Communications of the ACM, so that you can view the table of contents in the browser Safari. The latest content from this feed will be pushed to my browser and available at any time.
A more detailed but short video all about RSS feed is RSS in Plain English. This video shows you how to view RSS feeds through Google Reader.
